Musing Mondays: June 12

monday

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted by The Purple Booker. This meme asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer each week:

I’m currently reading…
Up next I think I’ll read…
I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
I can’t wait to get a copy of…
I wish I could read ___, but…
I blogged about ____ this past week…

And then also proposes a random question.

This weeks random question is: Which would you rather live without? Books or chocolate.

This is an impossibly hard choice to make! I might have fallen in love with books (and have always been in love with the fictional world) but chocolate is that guilty pleasure that has been in my life forever! So how to choose?? Unpopular opinion, not giving it much though I would have to choose chocolate, because I can always fall into a dream and create an adventure of my own, but chocolate… well I cannot create that right?? 😜 Don’t kill me!!

This week’s chosen one is I’m currently reading… Blood Sisters by Jane Corry. I am a newbie when it comes to this author and let me say the book started out pretty slow… I wasn’t sure what to expect, if I liked the main characters… but now having read more than half I am pretty sure I like and truly dislike some of them… There is something mysterious about it, but mainly it’s a big family  drama!! I was lucky enough to get approved by Netgalley for this one and I cannot wait to share my thoughts next week!!

Here’s the goodreads synopsis:

Blood SistersThree little girls set off to school one sunny May morning.
Within an hour, one of them is dead.
Fifteen years later, Alison and Kitty are living separate lives. Kitty lives in a care home. She can’t speak, and she has no memory of the accident that put her here, or her life before it.
Art teacher Alison looks fine on the surface. But the surface is a lie. When a job in a prison comes up she decides to take it – this is her chance to finally make things right.
But someone is watching Kitty and Alison.
Someone who wants revenge for what happened that day.
And only another life will do…
